The first semester will focus on the various fields that make up the construction industry and will include a 30 hour OSHA training program on Safety. Students concurrently enrolled at FRCC would complete a 3 credit course with 45 clock hours learning a variety of hands-on techniques. Students must be a minimum of 16 years of age to carry out this practicum. The second semester will have the student doing an internship/pre-apprenticeship program on a job site. Courses in theory and internships (practicum in an ECE setting) are combined to provide a comprehensive base of growth and development. Students will have the opportunity to qualify as an ECE Teacher Assistant in a childcare/preschool setting during semester 1. While investigating the case, students examine autopsy reports, investigate medical history, and explore medical treatments that might have prolonged the person’s life. The activities and projects introduce students to human physiology, basic biology, medicine, and research processes while allowing them to design their own experiments to solve problems.
